Democracy and housing

Democracy is alive and well in the social housing sector. The residents of Tower Hamlets Homes have no say on members of the board. It would have been better if there was an election contested by political parties.

The Leaseholders Association also needs more democracy and more professionalism as the site is out of date.

All residents associations should have direct elections to them contested by political parties.

In short we need more democracy in social housing as well as associations which aim to look after leaseholders and tenants.
