Broken voting system

Charles Moore has a really good piece about the voting system and the fact that it is broken. It is not just Tower Hamlets but many other places. This is a story which is worth reading .

On the money

This article is on the money when it comes to Tower Hamlets .

Ware on racial politics in TH

John Ware has written a brilliant piece for the Indy. In it he challenges the Mayor of Tower Hamlets head on and raises a number of questions. The Mayor and his supporters would like this issue to disappear but it will not go away. It will be a scandal for many years in Tower Hamlets .

Fitzpatrick on Tower Hamlets elctions

Jim Fitzpatrick is right and I am in agreement with him. People need to wake up and smell the coffee and do something about Tower Hamlets. It is beyond a joke .

Thanks Nick

Thanks Nick for standing up for the people of Tower Hamlets .

Support Tower Hamlets Mayor

This kind of thing can't be helping after the local elections in Tower Hamlets .

Stop complaining

Lutfer Rahman's adviser has told people to stop complaining about the Tower Hamlets election results or there maybe street violence but I will not stop complaining .

Making peace

John Biggs and Lutfer Rahman may want to make peace after the election but if you read some of the comments on Trial by Jeory site I don't think that some people in Tower Hamlets do. I suspect a lot of people will never really make peace. This election will damage Tower Hamlets for many years to come. Read the Love Wapping comments .

Peter Golds wonderful

Peter Golds is standing up for the people of Tower Hamlets. This article from the Indy makes me proud to be a Conservative supporter in Tower Hamlets .

Failure of democracy

As a resident of Tower Hamlets I have been angry since Friday after the election and I remain angry to this day. Tower Hamlets deserve better .

Like this page

This is the LBTH Money page on Facebook it is worth liking to see where your money has gone .

Golds on election and suspend TH Mayor

Peter Golds has something interesting to say about the Tower Hamlets election . All residents of Tower Hamlets should try to get the Mayor suspended .

Votes not counted yet

As I am writing this Bethnal Green and Island Gardens have yet to be declared. This is disgraceful even by Tower Hamlets standards.

Lutfer won

Lutfer maybe Mayor of Tower Hamlets but this article shows that he has a bit of a cult following amongst some people .

New council

This is going to be very interesting to watch. If they let Lutfer and his team into Labour than the party will be a joke. Tower Hamlets Labour should not let them back in. Local councils really don't have much power so there is not very much they can do .

Gilligan on Rahman win

Andrew Gilligan has a article on why Rahman was re elected the Mayor of Tower Hamlets. I agree with him fully. I have met some of the Labour people in the Whitechapel area and they were not really taking the fight to the people .

TH election

It seems that election may not go the way of the people of Tower Hamlets who want change. However we live to fight another day and there are other elections. We maybe down but we are not defeated.

No Mayor yet

As I am writing this Tower Hamlets does not have a new Mayor yet. Even though some people thought the results would be announced and Lutfer Rahman would win in time for Friday prayers.

Tomorrow

I can't wait for tomorrow to see Tower Hamlets get a new Mayor in John Biggs hopefully. If Rahman wins it will be a shame.

Voted

I voted today for the Mayor of Tower Hamlets as well as local councilors and London MEPs it was straight forward and there were no problems.

30 things to know about Rahman

Andrew Gilligan of the Telegraph has got a list of things you need to know about the Mayor of Tower Hamlets. It makes me even more determined to see him lose his post. Tower Hamlets needs change .

Hill supports Biggs for TH Mayor

Dave Hill is supporting John Biggs for Mayor of Tower Hamlets. Lutfer Rahman must be disappointed. He has a long article in the Guardian. I did not read it. I was disappointed that he only gave interviews to two candidates and not others like the Conservative or Liberal Democrat one. I personally don't have anything against Dave Hill but I am not a big fan of his blog .

Tower Hamlets in Blloom

There is more to life in Tower Hamlets than politics one of them this very good competition .

Londonist on Mayor elctions

The Londonist talks about the the Mayoral elections not just in Tower Hamlets but the other ones as well and links to their sites .

Rahman out

It seems that Labour can kick Rahman out of office in Tower Hamlets. His supporters think he has already won .

Tower Hamlets house prices

The poor can't live in Tower Hamlets anymore it is no longer a deprived part of London anymore .

Clycling deaths hustings

It is tragic that the Mayor of Tower Hamlets could not attend such an important event another reason to vote for someone else .

East End slum

Tower Hamlets and the rest of East London has a lot of not very nice places for people to live in .

Hot and humid

Today it is very hot and humid in Tower Hamlets. I can't wait for winter to return.

Last party

This maybe the last party that the residents of Robin Hood Gardens have before their huge estate enters Tower Hamlets history .

NHS cuts

This has largely been ignored in Tower Hamlets. Good to see someone discussing it .

Lovebox rejected

A four license application by Lovebox has been rejected by Tower Hamlets Council. They will appeal. With Lovebox and things like that the Councilors have a difficult balancing act .

Housing crisis

A housing crisis is going to hit Tower Hamlets. We already have one though .

Lib Dems in Tower Hamlets

Sadly Tower Hamlets had only one Lib Dem and to be a balanced council it needs all 3 political parties . Update electoral fraud story. I am not going to comment on the story which I put up yesterday except that as been pointed out to me it has nothing to do with electoral fraud in Tower Hamlets.

Alarmed

As a Conservative living in Tower Hamlets this alarms me very much .

Electoral fraud mix up

It appears that there has been a mix up. The story is about something else please read the full story .

Pedaling against poverty

Good to see that Tower Hamlets residents are doing something good for charity. I hope they raise lots of money .

Voter fraud in Tower Hamlets

Ted has been discussing this and there are a number of serious allegations made in this article on all sides. All I can say is watch this space. Tower Hamlets freak show continues .

The cost of poverty

Toynbee Hall has a report out on the cost of been poor in the East End. People pay a poverty premium .

Paddy and mental health

Paddy is sniffing for illegal drugs at Tower Hamlets mental health centre .

The BBC and "Trojan Horse"

Andrew Gilligan today makes a shocking allegation against the BBC. The BBC like most of the media has been silent about "Trojan Horse" This reminds me a bit of Tower Hamlets. The BBC came late to the Game after Gilligan and a few others like Ted Jeory have been going on about it for sometime .

Good History

Brighton College is making the right decision by making History compulsory. In the state sector in places like Tower Hamlets (not sure if this is true of Tower Hamlets) a lot of places have dropped demanding subjects like History in favour of Business Studies .

"Trojan Horse" Birmingham upset

It is amazing what Council's and their officers get up to. Birmingham City Council is behaving a lot like Tower Hamlets does on a number of issues from denials to instructing lawyers for pointless cases at the taxpayers expense .

Brave man

This brave Pakistani man died in the cause of fighting for someone who was accused of blasphemy. Yet in the UK people are trying to take over schools under Trojan Horse and we have extremists even in Tower Hamlets .

Not that good

According to people who I talk to the schools in Tower Hamlets are really not that good .

Campaigning in Whitechapel

Tower Hamlets First seem to be very active in campaigning in the Whitechapel area. Whitechapel is a area where they have all the council seats. To be fair they did not win any of those seats as Tower Hamlets First. They are a untried and untested party electorally. People who say they can predict the election are fools.Tower Hamlets First need all the votes they can get with the changes that have taken place in Tower Hamlets. They should have really been called the Lutfer Rahman Party just like Respect which was really the George Galloway Party.

Miliband interview

The East London Advertiser has an interview with Ed Miliband where he defends John Biggs and his record. I am a Conservative but I can see Biggs been a good Mayor of Tower Hamlets .

Good service

Tower Hamlets Council ignores my emails and tweets.

The runners

There are 204 candidates running to be councilors in Tower Hamlets. The list is interesting and worth a closer look .

"Trojan Horse" East London

The Mail mentioned East London but I could not find any mention of it in the text of the article. I wonder if the area is Tower Hamlets? This kind of behaviour amazes me. If those people don't like this country than why not leave it ?

Ed visits

Ed Miliband came to visit Tower Hamlets to celebrite 20 years since Derek Beacon lost his seat. I had no idea it has been that long .

Bad housing

This report alleges that there is a lot of it in Tower Hamlets .

"Trojan Hourse" in Bradford

Andrew Gilligan has another impressive article this time on Bradford and the Islamist plotting to take over schools there. I have long admired him for his work on Tower Hamlets .

Race row fizzles out

Good old Tower Hamlets every so often we have a new race row .

Nice website

This ward website is actually better looking than the main Tower Hamlets First website .

East End Lies came today

East End Life known by the locals as East End Lies came today even though Mr Pickles has requested Tower Hamlets to stop printing this rubbish. There is a very good article about Waltham Forest which reminds me a lot of Tower Hamlets .

Tower Hamlets house prices

East London Lines discusses house price and their future in Tower Hamlets .

Hill interviews Rahman

Dave Hill of the Guardian has a comprehensive interview with the Mayor of Tower Hamlets .

Chris Smith does exist

Looking at Tower Hamlets politics you would think it only had 3 candidates, Chris Wilford for the Conservatives, John Biggs for Labour and Lutfer Rahman for Tower Hamlets First. There are other candidates like the Liberal Democratic one and the Green one who do exist but have very little footprint on things like social media that I am aware of. Here is the Green one Chris Smith .

Bookies back Biggs

Bookies think that John Biggs could beat Rahman .

Tube strike

This story maybe out of date but it is worth putting up nevertheless. Tower Hamlets is a major transport hub so there are other ways of getting around besides the tube but it does make life difficult .

Substance abuse by the young

It is shocking that young children in Tower Hamlets are abusing drugs and alcohol. At least they are seeking help .
