The mayor and the queen

Another view from the Advertiser. Something East End Liars would never cover.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

The Culture Secretary thinks that some authorities have gone too far in setting up local newspapers. Just like Tower Hamlets with East End Liars called East End Life.

Healthy eating

Tower Hamlets PCT are having a laugh. Kids here love keabs.

Tower Hamlets Community Credit Union has a facebook group.

It is a better credit union than Tower Hamlets.

New IT contract

Let's hope the contractor does a good job in Tower Hamlets unlike the council.

Nice new site

It has been new for sometime but I have not reviewed it. Tower Hamlets is still a rotten council.

EFA ecommunities

The new website looks really good.

Tony McNulty

I never liked that clown or his wife who did such a bad job at runing Tower Hamlets. George Galloway humilated her when she was the returning officer and he won by calling Tower Hamlets a banana republic. It seems that Tony is now running a comedy show of his own lecturing other MPs whilst been MP for Harrow East which is in Greater London. I hope he and his cow get something.

Please no

The food nazis seem to be at work in Tower Hamlets. I like good junk food.

Yob teachers update

Tower Hamlets has come to an agreement with them. It is a shame as people like the NUT are not worth dealing with. That teacher has not made a comment.

Information leaflets

I wanted to put some information leaflets for Changing Faces at the Whitechapel Idea Store but I was told I could not even though they put all the junk about how wonderful Tower Hamlets Council is for everyone to see.

Tution fees

They are a good thing as they allow more money into the system when the state is broke. Also the government is cutting ELQ funding which means that a lot of people will in future pay higher fees. If you don't know what an ELQ is suppose you have an MA but want to do a BSc then you will not get any funding however there are a few excemptions to this. Here is more information.

The real grwoth area is private further and higher education and private schools. This has taken a slight knock with the recession. You can find my post on private colleges earlier in the blog.

More on yob teachers

The teachers in that school in Tower Hamlets should grow up but then they will not.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Jobcentre crisis

They can make most of the current staff work hard as they don't. They are now getting lazy brain dead civil servants in from disability living allowance and child maintenance. There is no danger of anything according to the DWP. They are right as the staff are mostly dumb anyway.

Saturday, March 14, 2009

Yob teachers

Honestly teachers in Tower Hamlets going on strike for a man who could not follow the rules. Staff should be pnuished just like the students but that is not socialist.

Conservative councilors

This is the list of all of them in Tower Hamlets. We need a lot more.

Some good news

Council tax in Tower Hamlets wont increase by much.

Monday, March 9, 2009

Bow primary

It is too late to register now but I can't wait for the results Hopefully the Bow party will choose someone who can defeat Labour and show people that Tower Hamlets is now becoming Conservative.

Pensions and bonds

I try and not to do 2 articles a day but this is very important to me. The first one appeared in moneysavingexpert and it was posted by me.

As fixed rate bonds are discussed in the aritcle I thought that I would add this one on I found it in the moneyfacts website and it was missed by Dan in the article. (MSE articles sometimes miss some of the smaller providers). Anyway the Bank of Cyprus UK is offering a really good bond and the good news is that for those of you without cheques books you can pay in by BACS or debit card and it only starts from £1. http://www.bankofcyprus.co.uk/main.asp?id=6185 The email address is not easier to find so I thought I would include it here it is customerserice@bankofcyprus.co.uk and the phone number is a 0845 one but it also has the +44 one so all you have to do is to replace the +44 and add a 0 instead.

I have asked to be sent the forms via post as I don't have a printer.

The second one is about local authority pensions.

I agree with the Taxpayers Alliance that local authority pensions should be cut along with the rest of the public sector as they employ and dishonest staff.

East London Advertiser

The newspaper that tells the truth.

The truth about East End Liars

This is a very interesting article. I will explore some of the points raised in the article and my wider views.

The council should put more stuff online and they should also try to reduce the amount of stuff that they publish. A lot of people I know don't read the liars that are published in the local paper. Of course it is all to do with spreading liars about how wonderful the council is. If you are to read the article the costs are clear and the council is not keen to talk about them. In a time of service cuts surely that the local rag could be axed. I personally use Tower Hamlets Freecycle cafe for local information. Why does the council need to advertise? They have a website. Maybe they are unwilling to change. Also arts and events sends everything via email.

More stars

I can't find the article but it was disturbing the number of local authorities who actually are improving according to the audit commission. It is a joke as Harringay children's services had 3 but now down graded. After my dealings with Tower Hamlets they deserve no stars. At least the Unison donkeys will be pleased.

Quick grab it. Here is the MSE article

Planning award

I just read the headline and could be bothered to read the rest as it upset me.

School lotteries

There will be disappointed people in Tower Hamlets.
