A cross political alliance has been formed in Tower Hamlets to challenge all last week's elections in Tower Hamlets following numerous reports of "irregularities".

The Civic Corruption Alliance has brought together rivals to take the council to the High Court again.

Andy Erlam, who brought the successful election petition in 2014 which resulted in Lutfur Rahman being banned from office for 5 years said today: "Numerous reports of irregularities in last week's elections have once again pointed to an enormous election fraud once again in Tower Hamlets. Why have the authorities done nothing? Sheer incompetence and embarrassment have left the people of the Borough stranded. It's a. utter disgrace."

Incidents include:
* unlawfully abandoning the election count unguarded and unlawfully evicting certified official observers with security guard;

*. Threatening election canvassers and barring canvassers from certain tower blocks.

* Allowing intimidation immediately outside and in polling stations.

* Little use of a police presence to defend democracy. Allegedly police not at the disrupted count.

* Allegations of bundles of votes for one party being "dumped" on count tables.

* One party campaigner claimed to have "spare" ballot papers.

* Leaking confidential candidates' election addresses to council officers.

Erlam appealed for voters to come forward in every ward to back the election petitions. His email is andyerlam11@gmail.com

Ideally voters will have actually voted. Contact is needed urgently. The deadline is 28th May.

Erlam has sent a Red Flag 🚩 warning letter today Tuesday to the council, the Met Police and Excel Centre where the count was held not to destroy video and other evidence. The council has confirmed receipt.

Deliberate destruction of evidence could be deemed contempt of court.
